One Way Cutter

A free, browser-based plate nesting and mini-CAD tool that respects your material's strong (one-way) direction — design or import a part, lay it out on your sheet, and export a ready-to-cut DXF, SVG or PNG.

  • 100% in your browser — no install, no account, nothing uploaded.
  • Import DXF or SVG, or design a part from shapes and lines.
  • Strong-axis (one-way) rule keeps directional material oriented right.
  • Export a real DXF / SVG cut file (plus a PNG preview) in one click.

Plate nesting that respects your material

One Way Cutter is a free, no-login nesting and mini-CAD tool for anyone who cuts flat stock — laser, plasma, CNC router and waterjet operators, fabricators and makers. Set your plate size and edge margin, design a reference part from rectangles, circles, triangles and lines (or import a DXF/SVG), then lay out as many copies as you need and download a machine-ready cut file.

Design or import a part

Draw a reference part from basic shapes and lines with numeric, millimetre-accurate inputs, or import an existing DXF or SVG outline. Overlapping shapes are unioned into a single clean cutting contour.

Nest with one-way, strong-axis rules

Drag unlimited copies onto the plate. One Way Cutter enforces the material's strong direction: rotations that would place a part across the weak (one-way) axis are blocked, so directional stock like 3D woven composite plate stays correctly oriented for strength and fatigue life.

Export a ready-to-cut file

Download the exact layout as a vector DXF or SVG cut file in real millimetres, plus a PNG preview. Send it straight to your laser, plasma, CNC router or waterjet machine — no conversion step.

Free, private and fully local

Everything runs in your browser: no account, no upload and no server. Your geometry stays on your device for the session. One Way Cutter is built by 3Dwovens Composites, makers of One-Way-Cut (OWC) 3D woven carbon plates.

Frequently asked questions

Is One Way Cutter free?

Yes — it runs entirely in your browser, free to use, with no sign-up. Your design never leaves your device.

What can I export as a cut file?

Download your real nesting layout as a vector SVG or DXF cut file for laser, plasma, CNC or waterjet machines, plus a PNG preview for sharing. Dimensions are in real millimetres.

Which machines and file formats are supported?

One Way Cutter targets laser, plasma, CNC router and waterjet workflows. You can import DXF or SVG outlines and export DXF, SVG and PNG. Units are millimetres throughout.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Everything runs client-side; imported and designed geometry stays in your browser session and is never sent to any server. There is no account and no cloud storage.

What is the strong-axis (one-way) rule?

Directional materials — like 3D woven composites or grained sheet — are far stronger along one axis. One Way Cutter blocks 90°/270° rotations that would lay a part across the weak direction, so load-bearing parts stay correctly oriented for strength and fatigue.

Can I nest multiple copies of a part?

Yes. Design or import one reference part, then drag unlimited copies onto the plate; collision and safe-area checks keep every part inside the cuttable area.

Do I need to install anything?

No. One Way Cutter is a website — open it in any modern desktop browser and start nesting immediately. There is nothing to download or set up.

Need composite plates to cut?

We produce 3D woven carbon composite plates and custom preforms — including One-Way-Cut (OWC) stock — for defense, aerospace and industry.
